Alfa Romeo Paintwork Restoration

The car itself was pretty solid where it needed to be, the usual areas of corrosion on most cars are the wheel arches and this Alfa’s rear arch was pretty badly affected.

Once we had removed all the corrosion there was a large section of the inner and outer rear arch missing, particularly on the passenger side.

We sub-contracted the metalwork out to a company that specialise in this type of work as it requires bespoke fabrication and they returned truly outstanding craftsmanship.

This made the final re-construction of the arch a lot more straight forward for us, removing the need for excessive amounts of filler.

It always makes financial sense to cover as much work as possible in one visit, this makes the repair process more cost effective for our customers.

Working our way around the car we found other issues that would require our attention before the car was going to go any where near the spray booth!

These ‘other issues’ included:

• Large stone chips and cracks to the fibreglass bonnet
• Front and rear bumpers chipped and cracked
• Paint reactions from poor previous work where ‘economical / localised repairs’ had been carried out
• Door edge damage
• Tailgate dents + scratches
• Corroded mirror unit bases

The repair and preparation work was carried out by our skilled panel technicians before being passed over to the painters to apply the paint, ensuring a flawless finish.

The finished product was another piece of fine work by all the team involved at Complete Car Cosmetics and a vehicle to proudly put our repair stamp upon.
